What's meant by the phrase "living a Jewish life?" What's the point of living Jewishly? What ideas, beliefe, and practicecs are involved? This course explains how Judaism takes ordinary "stuff" of daily life and transforms it into the extraordinary.
Purposes of Jewish Living, Rabbi Yossi Groner
Why do Jewish believe and behave as they do? What are the big questions of life and how do Jewish thinkers answer these questions? This course clarifies what's distinctively "Jewish" about Judaism".
When you enroll this academic year 2011-2012, classes for the 2011-2013 cycle will take place on Friday mornings.

You may come with your own Tanach, however, we strongly recommend the JPS student edition. |

Dramas of Jewish Living, Dr. David Powers
What are the lessons of Jewish history - from the earliest wanderings of Abraham to today's turmoil in Israel? How do the turning points in Jewish history influence our lives today? This course explains how the Jewish past gives meaning to the Jewish present.
Ethics of Jewish Living, Rabbi Yossi Groner
Can Judaism shed light on contemporary problems such as the environment, gender rights and stem cell research? What do Jewish thinkers - from our ancient sages to today's commentators - tell us about conducting ourselves in both private and public?
When you enrolled in the academic year beginning in 2010, classes for the 2010-2012 cycle will take place on Thursday evenings.
